Welcome to the launch and first edition of our daily newsletter. Why are we doing this? Well we want to share our enjoyment of horse racing and football with you. We hope you’ll enjoy this and it will become a staple of your day whilst enjoying a coffee or lunch. The newsletter will be posted daily between 11:30-12:30.
Below you will find articles on horse racing, football, FPL (Fantasy Football League) and some tips/thoughts thrown in along the way.
First things first: CHELTENHAM IS 10 DAYS AWAY!!
As is always the way with the pinnacle of the sport, it’s a case of whispers and who will run and who won’t and for those with multiple choice options, what race will they run in. This week we heard the following:-
Supreme Novices Hurdle - Willie Mullins came out stating FACILE VEGA has the class and ability to win and hasn’t lost faith after his last run. In the meantime, Barry Connell came out punching in an interview on Sky to state (in his view) Marine Nationale is an absolute freak and the best horse in the race….We shall see. Let’s just hope they both turn up 100% fit.
Ballymore - Exchanges telling the story with IMPAIRE ET PASSE now pushed into favourite over Hermes Allen.
Triumph Hurdle - BLOOD DESTINY to topple Lossiemouth with the exchange pushing Lossiemouth out and Blood destiny coming in with rumours Townend will favour Blood destiny.

Stayers Hurdle - BLAZING KHAL (another) setback or fun and games to push the price out. He still tops the exchange and we so hope and think the latter . We have been very bold on this horse for some time now and tipped at a nice Ante-Post price of 16/1 (tweet below). Although we are worried by the possibility of MARIES ROCK turning up.

Arkle Chase - JON BON being backed into fave again on the exchanges. With question marks over El Fabiolo form we quite like this as we think Jon Bon will take a lot of beating.
Mares Hurdle - EPATANTE she should go here to set up one of the best races of the festival against Honeysuckle amongst others, but Nicky Henderson playing devils advocate as to whether a call with be made by owner JP McManus to head to the Champion Hurdle (We don’t believe that will happen).
Champion Bumper - FUN FUN FUN another with whispers that it might not run. Willie Mullins will have his bases loaded in this. Still value in this race so we’ll wait and see what the exchanges say.
Next week we’ll do our Cheltenham preview special for the festival to help with any selections.
Other Racing News…
More controversy over the new whip rules as more and more jockeys are been handed out with suspensions. Two big names in the last week include Richard Patrick and Ryan Mania- both of which will be out for eight days, starting on Cheltenham Gold Cup day (17/03).

Horses the team are monitoring today-

NTN:
1:20 KELSO - TEDDY BLUE has been very consistent and he ran well at Newbury in the Betfair Handicap Hurdle to finish 3rd of 16, so whilst today is another competitive race, he has Caoilin Quinn taking weight off, if he sees the trip, he likes a big field and should run well up in trip at a good each way price of 11/2.
Brennan:
15:10 NAVAN -ASHTON COURT looks over-priced at 20/1 in the big handicap at Navan. Interesting that he is now at the Gordon Elliot yard and on his stable debut. The horse looks to have nice form with Shark Hanlon previously and could be well handicapped. Sam Ewing takes the ride.
Goose:
12:05 MEYDAN -A very good opportunity here for KEMARI (11/4) to gain his first win since June 2021 with the majority of his opposition untested at the trip. Two good efforts behind Rebel’s Romance in the summer which looks a lot stronger form than it did originally, with that horse now a 3 time Group 1 winner.
Kurtis:
01:31 SANTA ANITA -DEFUNDED (5/2) Top class Grade 1 winning horse who has beaten the likes of Country Grammer and has accounted for a few in this field before.
Went of fav for the Pegasus World Cup but was caught cold by Art Collector. Still ran well and I expect another big effort from Bob Baffert’s charge. He’s also been given a nice draw, expect him to just track the pace and try kick off the turn.
Football-
Key pointers for the week:
Firmino to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
Dortmund beat Liepzig to go top of the Bundesliga.
Big clash as Man Utd take on Liverpool tomorrow.
XLAX:
Martineli - Has scored four in last three games. Had four shots last time they played in reverse fixture. Arsenal should dominate the game against a struggling Bournemouth.
Watkins - Has scored for five games in a row and scored in the reverse fixture this season also. Not only that, he has had four shots in three of his last five games (other two being against the top two in the league.
Felix - Has had three or more shots in every game he has played for Chelsea since signing. One of those three has been on target as well. Predict that Leeds will be very defensive today and Chelsea will be piling on the pressure.
FPL-
